4 Ways You Can Market Your Business on Facebook

May 23, 2018

Market you business on Facebook, even when your company will not allow you to have access to the Facebook page!

Number One

Get active.  What I mean by this is to join groups on Facebook. Find groups in your industry and your target market.

For instance, if you are targeting the 50-plus woman think about these questions. Where does she hang out? What kinds of groups might she belong to? Join those groups. Hang out with her  and get to know her.  But don't try to sell her. Just get to know her. Let her get to know you too.

Number Two

Start a group. Anyone can start a group. You don't have to be a business to start a group. Your group should be designed to attract people in your tarket market. Are they grandmas? Maybe a group about activities to do with the grandchildren. Family Caregivers? Maybe start a support group or a resource group. Your group should help you to find out more about their needs. This will allow you to see how you can help. Again- don't think sales. This is not about promoting your stuff. This is about helping and being a service. Remember people do business with people they know like and trust.

Number Three

Join and start conversations. Visit other peoples pages. Look for other businesses in your area who may be good referral partners.

Perhaps there's an elder law attorney that you'd like to learn more about or that you've already do business with. Make sure you've liked their page make sure that you like their posts.

And more importantly, start having conversations around their post. So in other words if someone posted a great article article take a few minutes to read the article. Then comment on their post. The comment should indicate that you have actually read their article. Everyone likes to know that you've actually taken the time to read their article and listen to what they have to say.

And quote something from their article. Furthermore, tell why you agree or disagree. And yes it's okay to disagree sometimes. Just make sure you're doing it respectfully.

Brand You!

Remember, every time you're online making comments you are branding yourself. You're letting people know who you are and what you're really about.  They will have a better idea about what's important to you.

Think Before You Post

Your personal page is also a reflection of you as a marketer for XYZ company. As such certain posts may not be appropriate to go out to the public.

If you are not sure if it is appropriate change your settings. Make sure that you change the public setting for that post to go out only to your friends are only to certain friends. Maybe you don't want the industry people seeing everything you post about your family that's okay you can set it to where you just send it out to your family

Number Four

I can't say this enough! Comment ,have conversations, join groups and be social! You could even start your own blog if you wanted to.Maybe you're passionate about hospice.

You could even start your own personal blog about hospice (or whatever you are passionate about.) Share your experiences. Be careful not to share personal information about patients.

And your stories can explain about the benefits and  about what people need to know. Your thoughts. You can share these on your personal page. Make sure that when you do this that you don't involve your company's name at all. If they're not wanting to give you access to their page they're going to be really touchy about this.

Again Brand You!

The great thing about this is you are branding you!  And if you work for somebody else and especially if you're a marketer in the Elder Care industry you know that there's a good chance one day you'll be working for somebody else. So brand you! Everyday in every way use social media to your advantage.
